Making sure that you are ready and fully prepared for your senior portrait session can get overwhelming. As an Orange County senior photographer, I know exactly how overwhelming it can be, which is why I’m sharing my 9 MUST HAVE tips to prepare for senior photos!

Let’s dive into a quick run down of my tips to prepare for senior photos to make sure your session runs as smoothly as possible:

  1. Choose contrasting photo locations

  2. Book professional hair and makeup to stress less on the day of your session

  3. Read my style guide! (And be sure you check out my free What Not To Wear guide, too!)

  4. Rest the night before

  5. Borrow a cap and gown or order one on Amazon

  6. Try on all of your looks to make sure everything looks how you want it to

  7. Change your jewelry with every outfit

  8. Bring props (a flower bouquet, sports equipment, or a school flag, for example)

  9. Be ready for the adventure and to have fun!

These tips will help you (or the senior in your life) feel confident and prepared for your senior portrait session. I find that the more these tips are executed, the better the end result! A little prep definitely goes a long way.
